How to Help the Lungs and Cheer Up

With the flu season in its peak and the whole family just recovering from the current bout of coughing and congestion, I thought I could share a Jin Shin Jyutsu hold for some relief.

I just did it on myself last night and felt it immediately. After about 20 minutes, the quality of my breathing elevated and warmth spread all over my body. And now, I have another favorite Jin Shin Jyutsu flow.

If you are troubled with some unpleasant cold or flu-related symptoms, here is what you can do to help yourself feel better. Place your left hand at the left side of your rib cage, at the bottom of it. Then, place the right hand on the left side of your collar bone. The positions are marked as SELs 14 and 22 on this picture.

That hold helps the left side. Alternatively, you can help the right side by mirroring the positions. The right hand goes at the bottom of the right rib cage and the left hand goes on the right collar bone.

By the way, if your cough has been going for too long, you might want to harmonize the Kidney Function Energy, as well, by holding your pinky toes for 3-5 minutes.

This simple hold is the first step in the Jin Shin Jyutsu harmonizing sequence for the Lung Function Energy circulation. When that energy circulates in harmony, it helps our lungs but it also gives us zest for life. You are welcome to read more about it on the page where I keep my Jin Shin Jyutsu notes.
