“Fear might keep you safe, but so does common sense.”
Carlos Gutterres said these words during my first Jin Shin Jyutsu seminar and they stuck with me for a very long time. If both are good at keeping us safe, which one would you rather employ? The fear with its adrenaline spikes and anxieties that lead to medications and costly therapy? Or the common sense with no known side effects ever?
For those entrenched in fear, let me assure you that I know how difficult it is to stop the fear. In fact, it is virtually impossible to battle fear once we have let it into our minds. So, let me offer a sneaky alternative that comes from the wisdom of Jin Shin Jyutsu. Hold your ankles! Just wrap your hands around your left or right ankle and hold for 10-15 minutes. If you have a significant other living with you, ask them to do it for you. It is one of the most wonderful experiences I’ve had. I used to do it for my 90yrs-old grandma and she loved it.
If you want to learn more about Jin Shin Jyutsu, I maintain a website dedicated to it.
